NorthWestern Mental Health's catchment area has a rich and diverse range of cultures with a high proportion of people from non-English speaking backgrounds.
It is vital that the services we provide are sensitive to various cultural needs, are accessible and provide the highest quality of care to clients from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
A network of staff collaborate to improve culturally sensitive practice, provide cultural and linguistic resources to staff, and undertake community development work with ethnic communities to share information about mental illness and to improve access to services.
